Outer Insights is about digital imaging and related work focused on the natural world. Our goal is to inspire and entertain by bringing unique and scenic outdoor action to everyday life.

We sell our work through two distinct channels:

1. Limited quantity, high quality custom or standard images and other works for personal or business use are available through this site (http://www.outerinsights.com)

2. Larger volume decorative items, shirts, prints, cards, posters, mugs and much more - all of which display our standard images and graphic work - are available for personal or business needs at our retail web store http://www.cafepress.com/outerinsights

We currently have more than 10,000 (and growing) digital images to work from and are happy to assist customers use them as they appear on our sites or modify them as needed or take on custom assignments to create one of a kind items.

The core staff at Outer Insights is comprised of three individuals who happen to be related:

Tom Isaacson (the Elder) is a business development and marketing professional with many years of management experience. Primary career stops include the temperature control, industrial gas, materials handling, surgical device and implant, bulk foods distribution, agricultural and consulting fields as either employee or entrepreneur / business owner. He handles the day-to-day operations of Outer Insights, assists customers with business related assignments and contributes to the growing catalog of O.I. images and products.

Tom is a lifelong sailboat racer with a collegiate sailing career and literally thousands of races under his belt as skipper or crew since the age of seven. When not working or sailing he backpacks, runs trails, SCUBA dives and generally spends as much time outdoors as possible. (Celebrity look-alike pictured.)

Tom Isaacson (the Younger) is an active individual as well. When not enjoying the outdoors or shooting images for Outer Insights Tom, an expert in high tech surgical video camera manufacturing, spends as much free time as possible brewing his own beer, growing a variety of orchids and cooking at charity events with some of his mates. Always ready to explore new and less traveled paths he and his wife and son have been known to drop things quickly to check out new locales and activities.

Degreed in Aquatic Biology Tom is a former collegiate bicycle racer who's still an active rider. He closely follows global cycling competitions and enjoys trekking in the Sierras, body boarding, local hiking excursions and SCUBA diving.

Joe Isaacson has accomplished much in a short period of time. Most of it outdoor related. Highly active since early childhood, Joe has played most ball and court sports since the age of four and competed in track and water polo events as well. Early on he displayed great baseball talent as a first baseman / pitcher and had an outstanding division 1 collegiate career followed by three years of professional ball. Tiring of the travel and politics involved in professional sport he shifted gears to add personal training certifications to his degree in Psychology and began assisting people to improve physically.

When not shooting for Outer Insights Joe can usually be found hiking, biking, surfing or SCUBA diving.

We're always eager to get outside and look for whatever unique scenes the day, night, animals or humans can put in front of our lenses. We're not afraid to get dirty (in fact we kind of like that part) and tend to get really worked up over small things like light shimmering on water, animal expressions and behaviors, gnarled trees and even, on occasion, interesting patterns in the sand.
